What’s Working for Marketing in 2024

- Everyone is looking backwards to the year that was. At TFR, we’re here to help you look ahead…because it’s much more profitable -

With New Year’s Eve coming in hot, and Mariah Carey defrosting as we speak (that’s happening whether you like it or not…), it’s time for retrospectives. You’ll see them everywhere – what worked in 2023? What were your favorite meals of 2023? What your favorite color of 2023 says about YOU! Note: If you said periwinkle, we like your style and we should set a date to hang.

But at TFR, we prefer to look ahead. It’s much more productive, useful, and most importantly…profitable. Plus, you don’t have to listen to Vitamin C’s “Graduation (Friends Forever)” song nearly as much, and that’s always a win. So with that in mind, let’s look ahead at what will be working for marketing in 2024 – so you can make the new year even more lucrative and creatively valuable than the past 12 months:

Here’s what’s working in 2024

  1. Personalized and immersive content: Trends indicate that overly branded content will be out. Personalized and immersive content, on the other hand, will be essential to attracting and retaining 2024 consumers. Your audience will expect content that’s relevant, tailored, and engaging - especially as short form videos. Marketers will need to use data and AI to create content that matches the needs, interests, and behaviors of their base to get the results they covet.

  2. Influencer marketing: Micro-influencers will be huge in 2024. Brands are tired of spending tens of thousands of dollars on mega influencers with zero returns. If messaging is broad and reach is un-targeted, you might as well be lighting budget on fire. Micro-influencers, alternatively, have a small number of followers yet higher engagement, which all leads to better conversions with your audience. Take that to the bank.

  3. AI-powered marketing: Artificial intelligence will play a key role in enhancing marketing strategies and outcomes. AI will continue to enable marketers to analyze data, personalize content, optimize campaigns, automate tasks, and generate insights that will all pay huge dividends. AI will also help marketers create more engaging and interactive experiences for consumers, such as chatbots, voice assistants, and augmented reality. As we’ve said again and again, it’s a tool that needs to be mastered and powerfully wielded.

  4. Facebook ads (and at a lower cost!): Meta is making it easier for marketers to create, optimize, and measure its ads more effectively and efficiently, which can lower its cost per result and increase delivery. That will all make your “relevance score” higher – and the higher the score, the lower your cost per result. Facebook ads are here to stay for 2024, with even more value to you.

  5. Value added content: People are spending less for things that don't bring WOW results…and unsubscribing from email lists that are too salesly. People resonate more with content that has specific value to them. With the help of marketing experts (ahem, ahem), finding out exactly what those needs of your audience are and tailoring content to provide that value will mean everything in the year ahead.

While everyone is focused on the past year, looking behind to take stock…at This Feels Right, we believe in looking forward. And since you’ve come this far, you’re already a step ahead. You’re looking to make 2024 even better than years past, and that means you’re ready. We applaud you for that. And now all you have to do is walk down the path.

Want to go even further in that direction? Well, we can help you there. Time to call us. We’re looking forward to helping you win in 2024, and beyond.

This Feels Right.
